Omni King Edward Hotel Wedding Guide | Novella Films

“Costin and I had to pull over while driving to watch our wedding trailer because we couldn’t stop crying. We’ve watched it multiple times and I’m still in tears and covered in goosebumps. You absolutely knocked it out of the park!” — Jerienne

Intro

We have filmed multiple weddings at the Omni King Edward Hotel, and it keeps delivering. Classic architecture, effortless flow between ceremony, portraits, and reception, plus consistently great food. If you are dreaming of an elegant downtown celebration with beautiful light and easy logistics, this is a gem.

A historic Toronto icon with modern elegance

Opened in 1903, the King Eddy blends Edwardian grandeur with present-day finishes, which makes it both timeless and fresh for wedding visuals.

Ceremony and reception spaces we love

The hotel offers several ballrooms and event spaces, each with a distinct look.

  • Crystal Ballroom, our favourite space. Perched high above the city with tall glass windows that flood the room with natural sunlight, airy, bright, and incredible for both photo and video. Floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views are signature here.

  • Vanity Fair Ballroom. Romantic, refined, great for ceremonies or intimate receptions.

  • Sovereign Ballroom. Rich architectural details, warm palette, a classic setting for mid-sized guest counts.

One of our favorite parts of filming at the King Edward is watching the Crystal Ballroom transform. We’ve filmed both ceremonies and receptions here, and each setup feels completely new. During two recent weddings, the couples had room reveals before guests entered. Without fail, the reactions were some of the best we’ve ever seen. The tall windows, elegant décor, and dramatic floral designs made the space breathtaking every time.

Best locations for wedding photos

These are the spots we guide couples to for portraits, bridal party, and candid moments.

  • Grand lobby and hallways. Marble, chandeliers, and polished details create elegant frames.

  • Exterior on King Street East. A stately backdrop that reads Toronto the moment you step outside. Address is 37 King Street East, right in the core.

  • The Financial District nearby. Steps from the hotel, modern towers, clean lines, and city energy let us mix classic hotel portraits with a contemporary downtown vibe that couples love.

  • Staircases and corridors. Layered compositions, depth, and leading lines for dramatic portraits inside the hotel.

Food and guest experience

Guests often rave about the food and service, and the culinary team has a strong reputation on the weddings side. That combination makes dinner and late-night feel special for everyone.

Our filming approach at the King Eddy

We know the angles, the light, and the timing in these rooms. For evening receptions, we bring our own professional spotlighting for speeches and first dances, which helps us keep faces beautifully lit while preserving the room’s ambiance. You focus on celebrating, we handle the technical side.

“This highlight video is so wonderful, so incredible, so emotional. It made us smile, laugh, cry tears of joy! We love it so, so much! Have we mentioned how talented you guys are?!” — Evelyn
